I am considering surgery for my 15 year old son's hearing loss in the left ear. It is at 30dcbl loss (?). We had a scan taken, and the doctor/surgeon believes it is either the Malleus or the Incus, he doesn't think it's the Stapes.
I'm doing some research.

My daughter has had 2 significant
acquired cholesteatomas and has just had her malleus and incus bones removed, the ear canal wall was taken down, and she has lost taste to the right side of her mouth. This site has helped me understand exactly what has happened to her and gives me a clearer understanding of what her doctors are explaining to me.
